Paint manufacturing company, Berger Paints, today June 19th sacked all members of its staff. The mass sack comes after a 2-week strike action. The workers had embarked on strike over the new living wage policy of the company where none of them would be entitled to gratuity upon retirement and what was supposed to be gathered as their gratuity overtime, would now be added to their monthly salary.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) command in Katsina state, arrested seven girls using hijab to disguise in a bid to evade arrest, as they attempted to travel illegally through the state to Europe.

Parading the girls, the Comptroller of Immigration in the state, Mohammed Yaro Rabiu, said the hijab was used by the girls to camouflage and get easy passage at the border.

Suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has reacted to news of his expulsion by the executive arm of the APC chapter in Bebeji LGA in Kano state. LG Chairman of the party, Sani Ranka, earlier today addressed a press conference where he announced Jibrin's expulsion for carrying out anti-party activities. Jibrin has released a statement saying that the expulsion is false as the announcement did not come from a genuine member of the APC executive in his local government. The Rivers State Police Command on Thursday, June 15 paraded 66 suspected armed robbers, cultists, kidnappers, child trafickers arrested in various parts of the state. 

A coalition of Niger Delta militant groups under the aegis " Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators, have asked all Northerners in the region to leave on or before October 1st this year.

Rising form an extra-ordinary meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state yesterday,  said failure to do so, they would attack all the oil wells in the region that are owned by northerners.

Landslides following heavy monsoon rains in southeastern Bangladesh have killed at least 134 people.

This morning, the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) dismissed the charges of false asset declaration against Senate President, Bukola Saraki. Chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar, in his ruling said the prosecution team had failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that Saraki was indeed guilty of false asset declaration.

With this, Nigerians took to social media to share their views on the ruling. As expected many believe the fight against corruption is a futile effort. See their comments below.
