A 48-year-old Nigerian man was savagely pulled out of a train by two ticket inspectors of the Deutsche Bahn German train system because he did not have a ticket. The man had been discovered when the inspectors got to him during a check.

Upon discovery, they asked him to show an ID card and pay a €60 fine but when he couldn't, he was forced out of the train.

An American citizen, Marco Ramirez, was on Thursday, June 22, remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison by an Ikeja High Court for allegedly duping three Nigerians in a $565,000 green card and investment scam.

A suspected kidnappers and ritualists den was discovered few buildings away from the Ondo state House of Assembly complex at Algbaka area in Akure, the state capital today June 26th.

The two storey building is situated behind the popular government-owned events centre, the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade.

Mr Yakubu Sulieman, the South West Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has revealed that over 300 houses were affected in the heavy downpour of Tuesday June 20, 2017 in Ibadan, with property worth millions of naira destroyed.

An accident which occurred yesterday in Yaba has left victims severely injured.

INEC receives signed petition for Melaye’s recall

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has reportedly received a collation of signatures from electorates in Kogi West Senatorial district which is meant for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye. 

According to the Special Adviser on political affairs to Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, Pius Kolawole, 188,588 voters, representing 52.3 percent of the total number of registered voters in Kogi West Senatorial district, have appended their signatures to the recall letter to INEC.

Berger paint sacks all its staff

Paint manufacturing company, Berger Paints, today June 19th sacked all members of its staff. The mass sack comes after a 2-week strike action. The workers had embarked on strike over the new living wage policy of the company where none of them would be entitled to gratuity upon retirement and what was supposed to be gathered as their gratuity overtime, would now be added to their monthly salary.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) command in Katsina state, arrested seven girls using hijab to disguise in a bid to evade arrest, as they attempted to travel illegally through the state to Europe.

Parading the girls, the Comptroller of Immigration in the state, Mohammed Yaro Rabiu, said the hijab was used by the girls to camouflage and get easy passage at the border.
